As most of you know, I am in Oxford studying for the summer at the Regents Park College of Oxford University. This has been a fantastic experience and I am so very grateful to my family, my church (FBC Nixon), my friends, and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary for this opportunity.Check back with this blog every so often to see how I am doing and where I am at. Here is the update so far...I arrived here on July 8th. Long trip from DFW. The weather is a cool 65 degrees on most days with alternating rain and sunshine. Heat is not an issue here. Most every day is jacket weather.
We jumped into classes almost immediately since we are doing a whole semester in 3 weeks. The classes have been very challenging for me and I am very appreciative of the opportunity.
I stay in the dormitory. Oxford University is not like American university's. In America, the college campus consist usually of a math, english, science, liberal arts departments. At Oxford, each college (department) is located throughout the city. So in essence...the entire town of Oxford serves the various colleges or specialties. The college that I am studying in at Oxford is the Regents Park Baptist College.
