St. Andrews - July 13


Tradition has it that the first church was set on the Lady's Craig Rock at the end of the present pier, but tide and storm forced the Culdees to rebuild it on the rocky headland above.
(Chariots of Fire was filmed on the North Sea beach behind me!)

Legend tells of the bringing of the several of the bones of the Apostle Andrew's body to what we now call St Andrews.

On a VERY serious note...St. Andrews was the birthplace of GOLF! What a great day I had exploring the Old Course!
